Hardscaping Project: Bladensburg Backyard Patio & Retaining Wall

Pro Landscapes MD transformed a sloped backyard in Bladensburg into a level, functional space, perfect for everyday use. The customer wanted to make their backyard more usable, and our solution involved constructing a sturdy retaining wall and a beautiful flagstone patio, providing a safe and attractive landscape.

Project Overview:

To level the backyard, we installed a long retaining wall, cutting into the hillside to create a flat surface. Given the volume of soil removed, all dirt was hauled off-site as there was no space for regrading within the property. Once the slope was leveled, Pro Landscapes MD built a stable foundation for the patio and retaining wall, ensuring durability and a smooth, even finish.

Our Solution:

• Retaining Wall Construction: A robust retaining wall was built to support the leveled hillside, creating a secure and stable structure.
• Flagstone Patio & Walkway: We installed a thermal full-color Pennsylvania flagstone patio and a matching walkway, bringing elegance and functionality to the backyard.
• Soil Preparation & Seeding: After the hardscaping was completed, topsoil was spread, and the area was reseeded with straw covering, encouraging new grass growth within 4-5 weeks.

• Enhanced Backyard Usability: The leveled backyard and new flagstone patio significantly improved the property’s usability, turning a sloped area into a practical and enjoyable outdoor space.
