Hardscaping Project: Laytonsville Pool Patio Deck Veneer

Pro Landscapes MD revitalized an aging concrete pool deck and garden wall in Laytonsville, transforming it into an elegant and durable space. The customer sought a solution to address cracking and settling in the concrete, as well as improved drainage to manage water runoff around the pool area.

Project Overview:

The existing pool deck and small retaining wall had seen years of wear and required both functional and aesthetic improvements. Pro Landscapes MD recommended a Pennsylvania flagstone veneer for the pool deck, a new garden wall, and an upgraded drainage system to ensure long-lasting results.

Our Solution:

• Thermal Pennsylvania Flagstone Veneer: The concrete pool deck was power washed and prepared for a full veneer application. Using 1-inch thick, full-color thermal Pennsylvania flagstone, we applied a thin stone veneer mortar layer to securely bond the flagstone to the concrete surface, giving the pool deck a timeless, high-end finish.
• Mortar Jointing: Once the flagstone was set, all joints were expertly filled with Sakrete mortar mix to ensure stability and a clean, polished look.
• New Garden Wall & Drainage System: A new garden wall was constructed to enhance the poolside landscaping, and a drainage system was installed to efficiently manage water runoff from the large patio, protecting the stone veneer and surrounding areas from erosion.
