Hardscaping Project: Sandy Spring Thermal Full-Color Walkway
For this Sandy Spring walkway project, Pro Landscapes MD tackled the challenge of repairing and enhancing a flagstone walkway that had separated from its concrete base. The customer required a durable solution that would not only restore stability to the walkway but also expand the landing area in front of the porch.
Project Overview:
Due to the stones separating from the concrete base, a simple repointing wasn’t viable, as this would have led to further loosening and cracking. Pro Landscapes MD implemented a comprehensive repair by carefully removing and reinstalling all flagstone pieces with a thin layer of cement to ensure a solid connection to the base. Additionally, the landing area was widened to improve functionality and enhance the entryway’s aesthetics.
Our Approach:
- Flagstone Reinstallation: We lifted and reset each flagstone with a secure cement layer, creating a stable and long-lasting walkway.
- Landing Expansion: The landing in front of the porch was widened, providing a more spacious and welcoming entry area.
- Thermal Full-Color Flagstone: The walkway was finished with high-quality thermal full-color Pennsylvania flagstone, set in a random pattern for a natural, elegant look.
Highlights:
- Enhanced Curb Appeal: The use of thermal full-color Pennsylvania flagstone elevates the appearance of the walkway, adding a unique, visually appealing element to the property.
- Lasting Stability: The cement reinstallation ensures that the flagstone remains securely in place, preventing the rocking motion that would otherwise damage the mortar joints.
- Flexible Solutions: In addition to veneering existing concrete patios, walkways, or porches with natural stone, Pro Landscapes MD offers complete hardscape construction from scratch.
Whether you’re looking to refresh an existing walkway or start a new installation, Pro Landscapes MD provides reliable and aesthetically pleasing hardscape solutions for your property.
